This evening, 8 p.m., I called Mr. Katsuyama at IC Sakai's headquarters. He was in a meeting but spoke to me for several minutes. He (Mr. Katsyama) gave me his new e-mail address, said that if I request from him specific questions in regard to IC Sakai, he would answer them. If you would like to write to him please use the following address: (do not use www) katsuyama.c@la-rochelle.co.jp Hate to think of what my phone bill will be but it will be worth it. LOVE THAT SAKAI-SAN

Then what's the first one for? Ha- sometimes I confuse myself so much.
I, like Mickster, have been trying to contact Sakai-san for a long time. Mickster has been succesful before, but I'm still waiting for my first reply. I'm going to try again with this address.

OK, I apologize to EVERYONE. I finally got it RIGHT. This is the correct e-mail address for Mr. Katsyama: katsuyama.c@la-rochelle.co.jp Sorry, (hangs head in shame) but it's soooo confudusing sometimes. I sent him a bunch of messages and finally the one that didn't come back as unsendable was the one to this address. I will delete the others on this site. This is an e-mail address, not website. I stressed to Katsuyama-san how much we care about IC Sakai, that there are millions of people who want to know things about him, where he may be appearing, when he may be opening a restaurant in the states, and where, what is he doing, etc. Please send him an e-mail. The more he gets, the more he might realize he needs to respond and grant our requests.

Actually, and I must admit to being proud, I've received three letters and two e-mails from IC Sakai, but, I only spoke on the phone to his "right-hand-man" Mr. Katsuyama, whose address I posted above. But one thing Mr. Katsuyama did say to me was that "IC Sakai is waiting with a warm heart to meet his fans." That Sakai's stated purpose in life is to live happily and give his cooking happily. Mr. Katsuyama said "IC Sakai appreciates all the letters and things his fans send him." "He can't believe how "popular" he (IC Sakai)is...." IC Sakai is the most popular of the IC of all, though they are all loved.

Sometimes you have to write several letters, and send several e-mails to Mr. Katsuyama to pass on to IC Sakai. Sakai-san gets really busy because now he is a huge celebrity, and he is also expanding his range with new restaurants, lending his name to various products, making personal appearances, etc. If you really want a letter from him, it's worth the effort you will have to put into getting it, just ask manalive. He didn't give up, and it took him several months for a reply.
