8-)President Bush's plane, Airforce 1 just left Reno after his visit to support one of the people running for congress. His plane flew practically right over my house, and, of course, I was using the binoculars to see it. It's a beautiful plane. People paid $2,100 to have their picture taken with him, plus $250. to get in to see him. I'd have paid if I had the money. He gave an awesome speech. I think it was the best I've ever heard from him. Yes, I'm a fan of his. I have a letter from him written in his own handwriting on his own personal (paid for by him) stationary which I have framed.

How cool, mick! The closest I ever got to AirForce 1 was to see a couple of the retired ones at the air museum in Tucson, AZ. A really neat place to visit, I must say.
Hubby and I got to meet Laura Bush in 1999. We were on vacation in Montpelier, VT, and saw her and another lady walking down the street. A few moments later we passed by the Republican Party offices and noticed the poster advertising her visit/speech. She was out stumping for her husband before the primary season. Anyhow, it was open to the public so we went and listened to her, then got to speak to her briefly afterward.

Awesome, AC. I think if I ever see a poster of Laura or Pres. Bush, I'd steal it and run away with it very fast.

It's awesomely huge. A big 747 I think. Blue and white, a big gold seal on the side. When the president came out of the door after landing, he was smiling and waving so I waved back, tee hee. He hugged lots of people then got whisked away to Mercury Air Center for his activity. He was gone again in less than an hour. But it was pretty cool.

No. I saw the plane in the air with my binoculars. And President Bush was on tv. There is no way they let anyone except VIPs and security near the landing site at Mercury field, not part of the Reno airport, and then it cost $250 to get into Mercury Air Center just to see him. It was a fund raising activity for the republican congressional candidate. His visit wasn't made known to the public sooner than the day before, Sunday. He gave such an awesome speech, he was really passionate.
