A friend of mine sent me an e-mail with a warning about people in places like shopping area parking lots, gas stations, etc., who go around pretending they are trying to sell expensive perfumes at a cheap price, and they ask women to smell the sample cards that are supposed to have various perfumes on them. On the cards is actually a substance that makes the women pass out after which these people rob from the women, i.e., take the passed out womens' purses, jewelry, car keys and car and everything in the car. They also have the home address of the victims and rob the homes. Be careful if anyone approaches you, regardless of what they seem to be selling.

I've never heard of that. Anything to back it up or just an e-mail? Sounds scary.

I got an e-mail about it. You can never be too careful. If anyone ever does approach you, remember this "heads-up". Stranger things have happened.

I've seen that email. I'm not sure if it's a hoax or not (good place to check is www.snopes.com, BTW), but the underlying premise of always being careful is a good one.
