This is the first battle of the new season, for those keeping track.
I never thought Flay was that good with dessert stuff...so I don't think he's gonna win. I hope he does tho!

Thursday, they're showing Batali vs Laiskonis battle as well. Same ingredient, different styles of cooking. Also, Bobby Flay will challenge someone in the chocolate field in a 'throwdown' on Thursday night too (I believe)

I always thought Flay's desserts looked pretty good. I predict that he will win; let's say 52-49.
I hope they don't still have that rule that you have to make 3 non-dessert items. I enjoy seeing them be creative with sweets in main dishes, but i thought the point was that we WANT to see desserts! I hope they allow at least three desserts per chef this time.
Last time, poor Laiskonis, who is a PASTRY CHEF, had a hard time with the savory stuff. I think these kinds of battles should allow pastry chefs like him to show their stuff. ICJ never had these dumb rules.

This was a really great battle- one of the best ICA episodes. I think IC Flay really deserved the win this time. His food looked fantastic.
Am I the only one who drooled the entire battle?

You were not alone on the drooling, MA. I loved this battle. Both chefs did great.
