ICJ is apparently no longer available on Food Network Canada.
Looking at it from a network exec's POV, I can understand why. The show had already run for several years, no new episodes were available in nearly four, and a successor series (in the form of ICA) is considered a hit and therefore people can still get their Kitchen Stadium fix.
Will it be back? It's not likely given the series' age, but it's not impossible either. The reality series Top Chef is running now; once that's done and had a re-run cycle, ICJ could be brought back as a summer replacement.
Any opinions?

I just hope and pray it'll come back in the regular 10 pm central time slot just like anything else. I don't know how soon.

Wow. Our Canadian friends are feeling it worse than we are right now. I hate to say it, but I don't think ICJ is coming back on. It will most likely be canceled here, too.

I will never stop loving ICJ, I don't care how many years it is in reruns. But in the time slot it is in now, I just have too much trouble staying awake, or even waking up.

I just record the episodes and watch them- I couldn't possibly stay up that late.
This is very sad news. And Canada was showing no signs of pulling ICJ off the air, either- they played it more than they did here.
I have a sad feeling Food Network U.S. will be cancelling ICJ as well. It's only a matter of time. As ICC said, ICA is a good replacement for most causual Food Network fans, but to the loyal ICJ fans, ICA just isn't good enough.
The early time slot, the Mr. Iron Chef Tournament '95, replaying the same several episodes and ignoring the Morimoto era- they all add up to one thing.
And it seems that no matter how loud we voice our opinion, it just doesn't matter. Food Network isn't listening.

Time for everyone with episodes to digitize them and share with the rest of us.

I've got plenty of episodes on VHS. How I'm supposed to turn them into online videos is a complete mystery. If I knew how to do it, I'd help out.

Is there a way to convert VHS to DVD? If there is, I think you could rip everything off the DVD and upload it to a site like YouTube.

I'm slow in that department. I have no clue. (The whole "VHS to DVD" thing is what I mean.)

You either need a computer with a video capture card or a DVDR (DVD recorder). With the DVDR you just hook your VCR up to it and run it while recording on the DVDR. Then once you've chaptered it and burned it you can take it to a computer and rip it to AVI or other format. I can get more detailed information if anyone wants it.
After that there is either youtube or bittorrent sites that it can be uploaded to. Just remember, it's only legal if it can't be bought on video under fair use laws.

The computer I want to use is in an entirely different room than the VCR. Do stores still sell VCRs?
