One of these is opening here and since I KNOW several of you are from Texas I have a question....
Is this a real Texas chain or just a wannabe.
For that matter has anyone eaten at one and is it any good?

I'm pretty sure I've been to one, but I don't recall exactly when or where. Without the context of when and where, I can't remember how it was.

I don't think I've ever eaten at this place, but by the looks of it, I would call this a "wannabe."
The menu does not look Texan at all, either.

It does look pretty standard for a steakhouse though. There's your "American" cuisine for you. lol
Evidently they started in Indiana. Why would someone open a place in Indiana named the Texas Roadhouse?

Evidently they started in Indiana. Why would someone open a place in Indiana named the Texas Roadhouse? Perhaps because they were homesick. It would work for me......

lol, ok you got me there herringchoker. The best southern restaurant I have been to was in SLC. It was opened by a guy from Georgia who couldn't get "a decent meal".

Arri - I'll be sure to get the name of the place from you if I ever come out that way. I've taken a real liking to Southern cuisine (but then again, I've taken a real liking to many cuisines ) and if I ever make another business trip to our facility in Utah I'll have to bear that restaurant in mind.

It's called Bubba's BBQ. www.chowbaby.com/10_2006/ArticlesNew.asp?lr=1&id=145BUBBA'S B B Q 4291 S. 900 East, Holladay, Utah 84124 (801) 268-3374 Hours: (Mon - Thur) 11 am - 9 pm; (Fri - Sat) 11 am - 10 pm; (Sun) closed Barbecue is obviously the specialty here and the hickory-smoked ribs shouldn't be passed up, but the nightly specials, usually a pasta, 2 or 3 fish dishes, several salads, and a steak special add to the mix of southern, down home cooking choices. Try the hot wings for starters, then the chicken fried chicken or rib and chicken combo and finish with the pecan pie if you're looking for true heaven on a plate.
Estimated cost per person for dinner = $10 - $20
Holiday Schedule: New Year's Day-Open, Valentine's Day-Open, Easter-Closed, Thanksgiving-Closed, Christmas Eve-Open, Christmas-Closed, New Year's Eve-Open It's in the middle of no-where. Not by any other restaurants that is. And it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside. Once you walk in though you discover that it's a carefully cultivated look.
