I love salmon. Most fish-eaters do. If you've never tried Sockeye salmon go get some. It is wonderful. So much better than the regular salmon. I actually just tried it recently, for the first time. I highly recommend it to those who love salmon.
What about you, have you ever tried Sockeye Salmon?

I've had wild Pacific Salmon, Sante Fe Salmon, and one other I forget. Can you buy Sockeye Salmon anywhere?

I buy my Sockeye right at the fish counter, in the grocery. Be expected to pay a little more than regular salmon, though.

I don't like it compared with wild salmon. It just... I just don't.

I had pink salmon, both fresh and canned. I much preferred canned, because I can make croquettes.

Actually, I tend to ask "Pacific or Atlantic" when it comes to salmon. Atlantic salmon, at least in Ottawa, tends to be farmed, while Pacific tends to be wild. The wild version is supposed to taste better, but I have no problem working with Atlantic.

Oh, it does. Farmed salmon tasts kinda... flat in comparison.
Speaking of canned salmon I make a killer sandwich with it. *whispers* It's the wasabi that makes the difference.

I don't buy anything in a can. Frozen or fresh. I can taste the metal from canned stuff, or, at least I think I can.

When you live in a desert there is no such thing as fresh, unless it's trout. blech

And what's wrong with trout? I'm not sure if I've eaten sockeye or not. I understand your question, ICC. When we lived in Ottawa, we knew a woman who was originally from the west coast who told me she actually prefers Atlantic salmon to Pacific.
