I got some silicone bakeware for Christmas, and I was just curious if anyone else has some - I'd love to hear what you think of it, some do's and don'ts, that sort of thing.

I got some a while back - I've found though that I need to use a cooking spray (like pure and simple) on it so food doesn't stick to it. Also, remeber to put it on a baking tray (for support) - otherwise, it's pretty much like using ordinary metal tins

I have some too. Keroppi pretty much said it all. It cools down very quickly too, which is a good thing, but I generally don't use it unless I'm making something quiche-like. You know, stuff that usually bakes on and takes a heck of alot of hard work to get off the pan. lol It cleans easily.

Thanks for the tips! Because I got two sheets of shaped molds, I'm most likely going to make something along the lines of Jell-o or ice cubes the first time out, just to try them. I suppose I could make fudge in them too.....

I also have a set. You definitely need to use a cooking spray. You also want to keep some flavors away from the pans. The pans sometimes tend to pick up the flavors of some foods. Some foods like chocolate might stain the silicone also. A strong pan underneath is also a must like Keroppi said. I don't use my set often, because I like the metal ones better for baking. If using it to make jello, you should spray the mold to ensure it releases. I tried it with out and it got stuck in the designs.
