Picked this one up at the local Chapters. It's a combination recipe / coffee table book. Very nice photographs by a guy named Quentin Bacon.
Morimoto appears here with a variety of eyewear, and dresses in traditional Japanese kimono, I guess to emphasize the ethnic origins of his cooking. While a good portion of the recipes reproduced here are exotic, a surprising number look like they can be done at home for a reasonable price on ingredients (I'd like to see if I can make his "curry pan," for example).
Another surprise is that maybe a half-dozen or so of them are taken directly from either ICJ or ICA. Sweetfish innards in chocolate, for example, and ice cream with lobster sauce.
I wouldn't recommend this for learning Japanese cooking (Tsuji's definitive work is a much better value) but it's worth a pick-up if you're a Morimoto fan.

picked this up this weekend. the local waldenbooks is closing in the mall so pretty much everything was at least 40% off. It's interesting. I've only read the intro so far and there's some insights into Mo, that's for sure. I haven't even looked at the recipes yet. lol but I will.
