With new members joining this board, and their reliabilbility unproven, I feel that more guidelines should be in place so that we can insure a smoother RPG. I recommend a minimum post count requirement so that we can make sure that those who take certain parts are reliable and don't bail out on us in the middle of the RPG.
I suggest these requirements:
100 posts- Judge 250 posts- Hattori or Otha(if needed) 500 posts- Iron Chef or Challenger
That being said, I would also recommend that post counts in the General Chat, Member Chat and Hobbies boards be blocked so that members who just post in those areas are not rewarded for not talking about Iron Chef and being eligible for the RPG.

If we were a larger board I would agree but this being a smaller board I think MA can handle it. Since MA takes Fukai and Kaga and usually Mickster has Ohta the only positions that require a HUGE commitment is the Iron Chef and Challenger. Even then some of our newer (at the time) members have done awesome jobs in those positions so at most I would make a general post requirement 50 posts. Usually by then we have a pretty good idea what someone is like and whether they're going to stick around.

FYI, as of this moment we only have 11 members with 100 or more posts, and only 15 with 50 or more.

We aren't that big a board, and because of that it's easier to keep tabs on new members and see if they are willing to take the committment. My usual rule of thumb is to have a new member watch one RPG first, and monitor their posting during this period. If they post almost everyday (and their posts aren't nonsensical), and they seem like good people, then I'm willing to let them play. If we ever grew to be a huge site, I would set up a system like Sanji's, but for now- common sense does the trick.

Out of curiosity Sanji, did you realize that you wouldn't qualify to be the Iron Chef or Challenger under your suggestion?

I am only 13 posts away. I can make that up relatively quickly.
Post count +1
