No, I'm sorry, but it isn't. Okay, how about this: "You go, we go" by Hans Zimmer. Zimmer wrote (most of) the soundtrack for "Backdraft" and it's one of the songs -- if you play it, you'll hear a number of other references to ICJ music. If you can't find it -- I can send you the MP3.

most of the music from ICJ comes from the Backdraft soundtrack A movie soundtrack is almost always (A) all original music or (B) a medley of songs selected to suit the scenes. It's been years since I've seen "Backdraft" so I can't remember the music at all. But, the music that plays during the IC rise in all the episodes I've seen is from "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff ... specifically the song "O Fortuna." See here for details and a clip: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_OrffIt's based on vulgar Latin poetry found in a German monastery ("vulgar" meaning "dirty" - at least to the sensibilities of 13th century monks). YouTube has a gazillion hits, here's one that scrolls the lyrics as it plays: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF7_PhB9coo[Edit to reference YouTube]

I have created playlists for the ICJ videos on YouTube that allow you to watch them in chronological order (if you wish). Title format is:
EPI - Theme: Challenger/Iron Chef
Where "EPI" is the episode number. My YouTube handle is "wz9u" -- enjoy.

Feel free to post any requests for episodes that are not in our video database yet. I'll put in a vote for the "Porcini Battle" -- Morimoto vs Marco Molinari. It's just a stunning battle that baffles both the commentators ... and even Morimoto himself when he visits the challenger's side to see just what's going on! It's one of my faves ... I watch it over and over. And Yoko Akino is also my favorite judge ... she's not the usual "airhead" actress, makes insightful cooking observations -- and is darned good-looking to boot. A wonderful combination of challenger, judges, Iron Chef, and theme ingredient. A winner all-around.
