Well, stroking an animal between its legs sounds (to me anyway) that it is preparing itself for something other than hypnotizism. Sorry gang but, HELLO. LOL

It seems like each chef will only have one sous chef and that there are only two judges. Funny why they wouldn't mention this in the commercials, but who knows

WooHoo! That was an awesome battle! Mo really whipped that guy! And the food looked wonderful. I was really worried about that ice cream, but i guess it was ok. Plus he'd already served five other dishes. It was fun hearing chef Eme speak French during the battle. I wonder why, during the tasting, Mo was dubbed while Eme was subtitled. They were both speaking English, shouldn't they be given the same treatment? About the hypnotizing of the lobsters, i don't remember seeing it in the actual battle, just the commercials. Which brings me to something a bit off-topic: I've been recording the ICA episodes i want, but is it worth it to buy the DVD sets instead? Anybody here have them? Is the extra footage worth it? Do they show all 60 minutes of each battle plus the full tasting? Glad the battle was so good, cause i think it's three weeks before we see another new one!

I was surprise that the challenger's food was so bad tasting when it looked really yummy when he was preparing it. What went wrong? He overcooked things, seemed to present things in a bad order, etc. WOW. Yes, IC Mo really whipped Chef Eme, or, did Eme just whip himself? Cameraman was generous with his shots on Ohmi....nice.

The battle was excellent. I really thought all the dishes looked great. Victory for MO!

Agree, AC, the battle part was awesome. Considering it was the third time Mo was given lobster, he was outstanding.

Oh yeah I knew Morimoto can do it! Looking fine with that ponytail and glasses.

Morimoto is dubbed at his request. He doesn't feel that his english is good enough. I really enjoyed the battle. I thought it was interesting that the challenger only brought one sous chef. I understand being from a small restaraunt but I would have considered closing for a few days with a big sign [GOING TO COMPETE ON IRON CHEF AMERICA]. Maybe he could have made up for it with the publicity? Anyway he seemed to have good ideas but either he's just not ready to be in the big leagues or the lack of 2 hands hampered him.

The secret ingredient is LOBSTER! Is it normal practice to give away the theme ingredient before a brand-new battle without a spoiler warning? I hadn't seen any of the commercials, and I prefer not to know the ingredient beforehand if I can help it. If mentioning the ingredient is the usual practice, from here on out I'll avoid the battle thread until after I've watched.

HC is correct. Please include either a "Possible Spoilers!" in the subject of the thread, or please warn us in your posts.

MusicalChef, only the Battle of the Masters episodes are on DVD, not the actual seasons. I know, I was disappointed, too. It's odd that they advertised the lobster hypnosis, and didn't put it in the battle. That was false advertising! ;D Not that I really cared to see it anyway.

Too bad that the promos show what the ingredient will be. And, they are shown on other channels beside FN.
