Wow. It took Mickster almost a year to get to writing a fanfic about Sakai. I thought for sure she would have done that long ago. Just keep it clean, and let your imagination flow!
Oh, and AC- if Sakai-san heard just what Mickster said about him, he'd invite her to Japan.

Sakai-san took Mickey's hand and led her across the threshold, then closed the red door behind them. They were standing on a wide catwalk that surrounded [glow=red,2,300]KITCHEN STADIUM[/glow]. Mickey's jaw had dropped by then, Sakai-san gently lifted it up and closed her mouth. So, what do you think? he asked. [glow=red,2,300]WOW, WOW[/glow]! Is this the place? Mickey asked. [glow=red,2,300]Is this the real Kitchen Stadium? [/glow]Yes, my love, said Sakai, this is the real Kitchen Stadium, the place where I can perform all my special and wonderous cuisine for the entire world to see. As you can tell, it's a very magical place. The things the Iron Chefs do here would be impossible for them to do anywhere else. Come with me, we'll go down. Mickey followed Sakai-san into an open elevator and they went down one level. The entrance we just came through, and the risers, which go down a floor, lead the way to the only access to this auditorium, he said. Both areas are very secure at all times. Right now, although the network is not producing a show, the room is still set up for the next battle. Mickey looked all around; the stadium was magnificent, there was every kind of produce a person could imagine, stocked on shelves, even some a person could not have imagined exists. Sparkling pots and pans were neatly stacked in an area accessible to both chefs' stations. The entire place was neat and orderly and smelled like fresh lemons. Mickey thought that was probably from it being recently sanitized. Sakai led Mickey to the front of the auditorium where Chairman Kaga does his "Alle Cuisine" thing, and then up the steps to the stage where the Iron Chefs emerge on risers. To say the least, Mickey was breathless. This is so beautiful and awesome, Sakai-san, she said. Yes, it truely is magical. It's totally another world. Would you like to stand on my riser and go for a ride up and down? Sakai ask Mickey. OH YES! was her answer. Sakai flipped a switch on the nearby wall then instructed Mickey to stand on the riser, he also got on it. Slowly, the riser began to go down until it stopped at the floor beneath Kitchen Stadium. We can go back up later but first I want to show you what is on this floor. Sakai-san led the way to his dressing room and opened the door. Mickey was totally delighted at what she saw next.

Sitting on a gold color suede parlor chair was, yep, you guessed it. [glow=red,2,300]SAKAI DOLL[/glow]. Mickey had perfected her design and sent it to Sakai-san for his last birthday. Suddenly tears began to flow from her eyes. sakai-san took her in his strong arms and held her close to him, comforting her as she gently sobed. I'm sorry, Mickey said. It was just such a surprise to me to see it here. I really didn't know if you would like it and keep it. Are you kidding, Sakai said. I love it. It's the best present I've ever received from anyone in my life, and it is my good luck charm. After regaining her composure Mickey looked around Sakai's dressing rooms, more like a small apartment, consisting of two rooms and a bath. The first room had two sofas, one gold suede and one black leather. There was a coffee table between the two, which looked to be made of black Italian marble. On one side of the room was a mahogany desk. On it was a computer, speakers, a copy/printer and keyboard. On the other side of the room was a large bookcase filled with books. On the coffee table there were many loose pages of recipes. Sakai said they were new recipies that he had created. Mickey picked up several pages and read them. As she did she was expressing her delight in their deliciousness. Would you like to have a few for yourself, Sakai asked. Pick out your favorites. As she did, she handed them to Sakai who proceeded to autograph each of them.

Reading the recipies made Mickey hungry. I'm starved, she said. Me too, Sakai said. How about we pack a picnic basket and find a pretty place to lunch. In fact I know just the place. It's perfect. Let's do it, said Mickey, she put the recipes in an envelope and then in her purse. The two left Sakai's dressing room, rode his riser back up to KS and took a basket from the supply closet. Sakai-san said he would make the sandwiches because he knew what Mickey's favorite kind was and he wanted to surprise her. Is it any wonder why Mickey loves him so much? He told her to pick out whatever she wanted to take and don't forget the wine, both red and white. Mickey walked around gathering up lucious items from the cooler, such as big black raspberries, meaty dark red cherries and a pint of heavy whipped cream that had been spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon. She also took a couple of hardboiled ostrich eggs, (I've never tasted these before, should be a nice treat) she thought to herself. She took a medium size tin of sturgeon caviar and a handfull of big, tender black truffles. To top it all off, she took a couple different types of French cheese. Even if she couldn't read the label, she figured they had to be yummy if they were in the KS cooler. Lastly, she spotted a plump angelfood cake for dessert with the berries and whipped cream. All the items were carefully packed into the picnic basket. The wine was secured in their holders on the side of the basket. Sakai had finished making and wrapping the sandwiches and he put them in the basket. He also added a large thermos of hot coffee. All finished? he asked. Yep, was Mickey's reply. Let's go! They exited KS the same way they had entered and left the big sage green building. Again in Sakai-san's rolls they headed out deeper into the countryside. Soon they were driving through a forest. About 20 minutes later they came to a pretty little, blue water lake. Sakai stoped the car. This is it. What do you think? This is beautiful, Mickey said. They got out of the car and walked to the water's edge. The water was so clear they could see the fish swiming in it. Sakai took Mickey's hand in his (causing her heart to beat faster) and they walked around the lake, breathing in the fresh clear air and the fragrant scents like pine, walnut, and moss. There was a group of large white swans floating on the lake. The swans came close to where Sakai-san and Mickey were walking, then swam past. By now they both were really hungry and decided it was time to eat. Mickey was eager to see what the sandwiches were made with. Back at the car Sakai brough out the basket and put it on a table, which was set up for picnics. They spread out a blue cotton tablecloth and napkins that Sakai-san had put in the car. He took out all the food in the basket and they sat down to a feast. Sakai handed Mickey a wrapped package. When she opened it she was very pleasantly surprised and totally delighted at the sandwich contained within. Yes, Sakai-san knew exactly what she liked. He had cut a loaf of French bread in half, scooped out a bit of the center and filled it with thin slices of cooked lobster, scallops and prawns. It was topped off with green onions, crisp lettuce and fresh tomato. On top of that was a creamy mayonaise sauce flavored with a bit of garlic and the top layer of bread. How did you know this is my very most favorite sandwich? she asked. I made it my business to find out what you like, or don't like. Sakai said. Mickey swooned. The meal was the best Mickey had ever had in her entire life, and of course, never had she had better company for lunch in her entire life. Sakai-san and Mickey talked about everything and about nothing. Mickey was so comfortable with him, not to mention being on cloud nine. This was a day she knew she'd never forget, and never would have another day when she would be happier. But, as all good things do, the day was coming to an end. The sun was setting and it was getting dark. The day had passed too quickly but Mickey had such good memories to lock in her heart that there was no room for sadness. Back in the car they headed for Tokyo. Mickey snuggled up next to Sakai-san and slipped her hands through his arm while they drove back. It took an hour to get back to Tokyo. Sakai-san turned on the car radio. Music played softly as they rode and talked about the fun of the day. All too soon they pulled up in front of the Tokyo Radisson Hotel, where Mickey was staying. Mickey would be leaving Tokyo in the morning. Sakai promised to keep intouch and Mickey said she would write often. Mickey thanked him for the time he was able to spend with her and for making it "heavenly". Sakai took Mickey's face in both his beautiful hands and gave her a sweet, warm and tender kiss right on the lips. Mickey could feel her heart turn up-side-down. Her eyes closed as she saved the feeling of his kiss, burning it into her brain and her soul. Just then the hotel doorman opened the car door. Mickey opened her eyes and looked at Sakai-san. I love you, she just couldn't help herself, she had to say it. Mickey left the car and walked up the steps of the hotel, turned back to look one more time and saw Sakai-san wave, then he drove off. Mickey watched the tail lights of the rolls until she couldn't see them anymore. Back up in her room, in bed, she fell asleep, never happier.

Back home in Reno once again, Mickey looks back on the memory of her day spent with Sakai-san and sighs. Her heart is so full of love for him. She recalls his adorable smile, the scent of his cologne, the strong yet softness of his hands. She hears his words as he speaks in broken English and she laughs to herself. All these memories will be with her forever.

Mickey had been home from Tokyo for almost a month now. She missed Sakai-san so much. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. When Mickey opened it, a delivery man had a large envelope type package. He handed it to her and asked her to sign for it. This done, he left. Mickey closed the door and looked at the return address on the package; her heart flipped. It was from Sakai-san. It was about 16 inches square and weighed a few pounds. Carefully, she peeled it open, pulling out lots of packing paper. Then slid out a beautiful golden frame. In the frame there was an awesome photograph of Sakai-san in casual clothes, i.e., tan slacks and a tan stripped shirt, and a royal blue necktie. He was holding a small sign that read "Hi Mick!" The photograph was signed [glow=red,2,300]"To Mickey With Much Love, Hiroyuki Sakai."[/glow] She held the picture to her heart and all was well in her world.

Sigh, I need a Sakai fix. A recent one. Sure would like to know what he's doing, beside running and chefing his restaurant. Wonder how to find out if he is making some personal appearances. Wish I could read Japanese, the latest news is on his LaRochelle site but it's all in Japanese. Do we have any members who can read Japanese? I sent an e-mail to Mr. Katsuyama asking if they would consider doing it in English, too, but never got a response. Sigh. I need a Sakai fix! Does anyone have any information on the Sakai?

Sakai probably doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving since it is an American holiday. But I still wish him a good day. He being in the world is one of the many things I'm thankful for. He is such a (fill in the blanks yourself).

My Special Valentine to Hiroyuki Sakai.
This Valentine's Day I give to you a tender kiss from my heart so true.
I give to you my smile so shy and take your smile to place in the sky. Whenever the clouds turn everything gray, your smile will be there to brighten the day.
[glow=red,2,300]You're so beautiful to me[/glow]
