Arrianna had the idea to do a monthly thread. So... what are you making? I bought a whole chicken. Not sure what to do with it yet...

I'm also planning to cook a whole chicken today, though I bought mine already cut up. I forget if it's Shake & Bake's turn, or sprinkling the skin with paprika....hopefully hubby remembers.

I've been having a lot of bulgogi lately. A really good sale on beef short ribs is responsible. I discovered if you use the kiwi to tenderize it the meat will literally fall from the bone.

Chicken soup tonight. With, you guessed it, leftover chicken.

Leftover chicken. I ended up doing the paprika thing; 25 minutes skin side down, then turn the pieces over, sprinkle paprika on the skin and bake another 25 minutes. Makes the skin crispy and keeps the flesh moist.

Whole chickens seem to be the thing around here. I had an egg omelet tonight.

Question, AC.....if it isn't an egg omelet, what kind is it? ;D I always thought the word omelet encompassed egg by definition; it's the other ingredients that would bear naming.

Chicago style deep dish pizza. My husband and I stumbled across Road Tasted or whatever that show is and saw them make some. We just looked at each other and went and bought the ingredients.
The dough is rising right now. Further updates later.

Pork chops. Hubby asked me to bring home garlic bread from the store, so we'll have that as well.
Arri - you've never had deep dish pizza before? I've tried it a couple of times. From my perspective it's OK, but I prefer a more traditional pizza.

Oh, I've had deep dish pizza before just not Chicago style. It has to cook so long you invert the topping so the cheese doesn't burn.
... and it was delicious. Next time I'll try only using a 1 1/2 lb dough ball instead of over 2 lbs. 2 slices and I'm stuffed.
