(><) sankei.jp.msn.com/life/news/140128/trd14012818210010-n1.htmI cannot find the English news yet at the moment because I found this breaking news just now...but just wanted to let everyone know immediately anyway. The web news was published today but is says she passed away on the 23rd and she had been sick since 9 years ago... I did't know... so sad... So sorry to hear this. (>_<) I liked her so much. I often used her recipes. Kobayashi-san, RIP....

Why did I not see these before? These are great. Solid gold. Yes, these are solid gold! I also laughed at Kaga's card: He believes cooking is arts, and eats anything he sees, and also Chen's card led me to remember Heichinro's such exciting battles. where I was like, Go! Chen! Go!

For example, the moment I became addicted to IC was when Mr. Morimoto poured the coca-cola into the pot full of natto...!! Yeah, that was shocking. I almost fell down fron my chair when I saw it.

It’s just my speculation. Maybe Fuji TV just avoided fierce competitive battle for rating shares during year-end and new-year-days period. (It’s very severe among Japanese TV stations.) So maybe spring or summer special is coming back. Yomigaeru ga ii Iron Chefs! And, ah..., Tets, you, too, wondered about some chosensha’s level? Looks like Japanese fans, too. Many fans pointed it out. So perhaps it was true that they could hardly get chosensha.

You are really good at extracting potential information from me. Well, I don’t know exactly. My friends, too. But if I am allowed to talk out of my plain assumption…, yes…, perhaps they gave up this winter’s special.
Regarding the ratings, I still don’t know the ratings from the last special. But probably low. I looked for the ratings data of the last special on the official site of Video Research Ltd. (TV show’s ratings research company) but couldn’t find it. They publish the ratings data at free of charge only for top 10 shows each week.
During regular run, every press was interested it this revival show and chasing the ratings data and published it on their articles. That's why I could get it.
My speculation on the basis of rumor from internet or information from third class message board such as 2Chan in Japan, perhaps Fuji TV couldn’t get challengers or other participants. I read somewhere that even during the regular run, they had very hard time to get good nominees. So many people criticized about missing star chef nominee. It ended up to not broadcast every week. USA and Thailand helped new ICJ because those are very active Iron Chef market.
Also I heard from someone whose friend was a sort of famous chef, one of the reasons he didn’t want to challenge was the Iron Chefs were too young (except Wakiya). Because it’s no meanings to win them almost in his son’s age. No merit. Or if they lose against them, it would be a great shame. (I think this kind of chefs have no spirits of entertainment or contribution. Just his restaurant is important for him.)

Oh, I see... So..., a kind of filtration system by Proboards regulation would be one of good ways...but I think it sounds difficult as you say, Iron Chef Mandy. It led me to remember that Yahoo Japan's message board about ICJ (2012) had this kind of system before, but many posts of good will got permabanned, too, due to too much restricting...

I noticed, too. But actually I...sometimes don't see clearly if it's really a spam or not. If he/she is not an iron chef fan, it's a spammer, I guess?
Basically, I agree with herringchoker. We can PM to administrator (MA) once we find them and he can judge if it is a spam or not and take care of it.
But I just want to say to Iron Chef fans, please come to join us, as new members! ;D

Soooo funny. Great work, okonomiyagi!!!!! Well, I was just browsing the board and really appreciated that I discovered this thread. I hesitated if I should put my comment here because it's such a late reaction but I couldn't help writing!
I laughed and laughed and laughed at each weapon and weakness. ;D

Actually one of the videos was already deleted by warining from them, and now my account is limited for only short videos up to 15 min. each to be up-loaded. So..., the long videos are divided into some pieces. Sorry about it. My Youtube account is back from probation and now I can upload long video. Now I uploaded some videos in full version.

Thank you very much for the info, Tets. I could download Morimotosan's episode before they deleted. Also it's cool that they featured and introduced Wakiya-san as a new Iron Chef Japan.

Aha! Thank you for the information and the links, HC and Tets. Sounds interesting. Anyway, glad to know that they still see Michiba as mighty & active Japanese cuisine chef even though he is aging. He (chef Miyanaga?) said this is the schedule as of October when they had coverage. So, they said "probably". FYI, their FB page is: www.facebook.com/MichibaShunsaraPS. Yesterday, UNESCO identified Japanese cuisine as world intangible cultural heritage. Recent years, we, Japanese do not eat our own traditional food as much as before due to change in our eating habits, this is a sort of shame, but thanks to efforts by many chefs such as Morimoto-san, looks like Japanese cuisine seems spreading to the world... I'll rethink my dietary life in this opportunity...

Michiba's staff (maybe Miyanaga) put an interesting post in their official facebook page, USA TV crew visited Michiba's restaurant for coverage in October. He says they heard that PROBABLY the show would be: Simply Ming: Season 11, Episode 10. On the Road in Japan: Michiba & Seafood (7 Dec. 2013). What's that? Drama? Documentary? I wish I could watch it.
